July 4th has rolled around once again and this year, we are celebrating with my side of the family. Every year, we have gathered with my husband’s family and let the kids have sparklers and Super Snaps, we ate barbeque and swam.
This year, we will be celebrating with my brother and his family as well as my parents. We start our drive to Siloam Springs Arkansas this AM and your prayers for safe travels and constant patience while on the road will be appreciated!
The past week, I’ve been out of state on a mission trip with my church to Utah and as God would have it, I ran into an interesting man at the church we stayed at. He was a member of the 303 Bomber Group known as Hell’s Angels. (I will be posting more next week about him.) It was a great reminder that no matter where you are or what you’re doing, there are veterans all around us.
So as we celebrate this year, I’m going to strive to remember the men and women that sacrificed so much for our independence, our freedom. The reason we have this holiday is because long ago, several men decided our fate was only our own, not belonging to any governing body. And for that, I am very thankful.
