The day after a three day weekend, if ever there was a time for coffee!
Enjoying time with family and attending one of the most unique sporting events ever this past weekend has me drinking more than my share this morning!
If you have heard of the National Chuckwagon Races, well, you’re probably from the south. Our little town of Clinton Arkansas swells an extra few thousand people, horses and wagons every Labor Day weekend. I attended this year for the first time with the kiddos while my husband helped in the hay.
The crowd was friendly and fully entertained as the announcers regaled the audience with jokes and humor while giving out times for each qualifying round. It is exactly as it sounds: mule and horse teams pull different sized wagons down a dirt track.
I had to be informed how this all works, the rules and qualifications, and I’m still not certain I’ve got it all down! But to see the speed of the horses, the abilities of the riders, it’s amazing to watch!
So, if any of you are old west fans, horse riders or the like, make plans for next Labor Day weekend and come join us for an unforgettable experience.
