September 11, 2001 was the worst day of terrorism to date on American soil.
On that day, there was a clear enemy that wanted to kill Americans.
They wanted to destroy everything the United States of America stands for. Freedom meant nothing to them, respect for life meant nothing to them. They were terrorists that wanted to strike fear into our nation. In that moment, there was no negotiating, no conversation or mediating.
Would we be a nation that fell? A nation that collapsed and gave into the destruction and fear?
On September 12, 2001, Americans stood up.
We cleaned up, donated, organized, helped where we could. We backed the officers, the firefighters, our leaders and responded in a way that proved we wouldn’t be weak and eager to give into the hate, the fear. We proved to ourselves that we can work together and do the right thing even though it wasn’t the easiest thing.
19 years later, we are at a divide.
So many in this country no longer want to believe in what America stands for, what so many have fought and died for. Freedom and respect for life means nothing to those that seek to destroy the foundations of our country.
We’re a country made up of different people with different beliefs, however we’re all Americans. So many came to this country because it would mean a chance at a new life, a better life.
Hard work and perseverance has given in to mediocrity and entitlement.
19 years later, the terrorists are watching and smiling, knowing that we’re set to fall and they’re preparing a way in.
It doesn’t matter what side of the fence you sit on, it matters where you want this great nation of ours to go. Do the research- not on social media- and find the truth buried in the rubble.
Treat every single day like September 12. If we can’t find a way to come together, we’ll fall just like the terrorists of 9/11 were hoping for.
