As this week unfolds, there are a lot of military families reeling and changes are coming.
The 82nd Airborne, who are an Immediate Response Force from Ft. Bragg, sent out 3, 500 reinforcements to Kuwait on January 4th. They will meet up with another 700 who had shipped out previously. As of this post, there are even more soldiers being shipped out, put in harms way.
This comes on the heels of an assassination of a well-known terrorist who is responsible for the deaths of Americans and Iranian nationals as well. This new ripple will cause waves as it comes down. It will effect the men and women that have sworn an oath to protect this county, sacrificing their lives if necessary.
Whether you believe this assassination was necessary or not isn’t the topic of discussion of this post. I would like for you to focus on the lives that are being upended, uprooted and changed because of the willingness of our soldiers.
To know there are people out there willing to sacrifice their time away from family in order to serve, Thank You.
To those out there dealing with naysayers about our need to be involved, yet you still go, Thank You.
To the women giving up time with their babies, yet still feel the need to go, Thank You.
To the men walking away from their children, their wives, their responsibilities in order to serve, Thank You.
Pray for the men and women, the children effected by this change of events. No one wants war to come, but we have soldiers that are willing to dive into the pit if it does, ready to defend our freedoms.
That amazing courage and sacrifice isn’t something you see everyday.
No matter where you stand on this issue of political necessity, please stand behind our men and women in the service. Give them your respect, your honor, for signing up and doing what so many of us haven’t done.
